`pbCl_(2)+Cl_(2)to pb Cl_(4)`
But `PbCl_(4)` is unstable than `PbCl_(2)` Because compounds of lead in +2 oxidation state are stable than +4 oxidation state.
b) `PbCI_(4)` is unstable to heat: In `PbCI_(4)` lead exhibits +4 oxidation state.
`to` The compounds of lead in +2 oxidation state are stable than +4 oxidation state. Hence PC, is unstable to heat.
c)Lead in not known to form `PbI_(4)`
Pb - I bond formed initially during the reaction doesnot release enough energy to unpair the 6s. electrons.
`to` Lead compounds in 2 state are stable than +4 state.
`to` Due to inert pair effect Pb exhibits stable +2 oxidation state.
