When `RSiCI_(2)` type of compound is used for the manufacturing of silicones a cross-linked silicon is formed:
Eg:
When Methyl trichloro silane `(CH_(3)SiCI_(3))` undergoes hydrolysis to give monomethylsilane triol. This undergoes polymerisation to form a very complex cross-linked polymer (Silicone).
