The concentration of hydrogen ion in a sample of soft drink is `3.8xx10^(-3)M`. What is its `pH`?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`pH=-Log[3.8xx10^(-3)]`
`=-{log[3.8]+log[10^(-3)}]`
`=-{(0.58)+(-3.0)}=-2.42}=2.42`
Therfore, the pH of the soft drink is 2.42 and it can be inferred that is is acidic.
