150 ml of 0.5 HCl and 100 ml of 0.2 M HCl are mixed. Find the pH of the resulting solution.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`N=(N_(1)V_(1)+N_(2)V_(2))/(V_(1)+V_(2))`
`=(150+0.5+100xx0.2)/(250)`
`(75+20)/(250)=(95)/(250)=0.38`
`pH=-log[H^(+)]=-log1(0.38)=0.42`
