The mixture of CO and `H_(2)` is called water gas. It is also called .Syngas..
Water-gas shift reaction : When carbon monoxide of the syngas mixture reacted in presence of Iron chromate as catalyst then the reaction is called as water-gas shift reaction.
`to` By using this reaction dihydrogen production can be increased.
`CO_((g))+H_(2)O_((g))underset("Catalyst")overset("673K")toCO_(2(g))+H_(2(g))`
In this reaction `Co_(2)` gas is removed by using sodiumarsenite solution by scrubbing.
