(i)`BeO` is almost insoluble but `BeSO

i) BeO has amphoteric nature and the solubility in water is low because of its covalent nature. `BeSO_4` in soluble in water. This is due to greater hydration energy of `Be^(+2)` ion.
(ii) BaO is soluble in water because of its ionic nature.
`BaSO_4` is insoluble in water because of low hydration energy of `Ba^(+2)` ion.
