A) Phycomycetes :
1) They are found in Aquatic habitats and on decaying wood or as obligate parasites on plants. They are also called algal fungi.
2) The mycelium is aseptate and coenocytic.
3) A sexual reproduction takes place by zoospores or by aplanospores.
4) Zygospores are formed by the fusion of two gametes which may similar (Isogamous) or dissimilar (Anisogamous) or oogamous. Ex : Mucor, Rhizopus, Albugo. B) Ascomycetes :
