Polysaccharides are long chains of sugars. They are threads containing different monosaccharides as building blocks. For example, cellulose is a polymeric polysaccharide consisting of only one type of monosaccharide. Glucose starch and glycoger are polysaccharides found in plants and animals. Insulin is a polymer of fructose. There are more complex polysaccharides.in nature. Exoskeleton of Arthropods and fungi cell wall have a chitin polysaccharide.
