Ctenophores, commonly known as .sea walnuts. or .comb jellers. or .sea gooseberries., are exclusively marine, radially symmetrical, diploblastic organisms with tissue level of organisation. The body bears eight external rows of ciliated comb plates. Which help in locomotion, hence the name .ctenophora.. Cnidocytes are absent. However, they possess .glue cells. called lasso cells or collolblasts which help to food capture. Digestion is both extracellular and intracellular. Bioluminescenes (the property of emitting light by living organism) is well marked in the ctenophores. Sexes are not separate (monoecious). Reproduction takes place only by sexual method. Fertilisation is external. Development is indirect and includes a larval stage called cydippid larva.
