Different plants have different quality in expressing desirable traits/characters. Eg.: Bacillus thermogenesis is used to kill other insect larvae acting as pesticide is a desirable trait. Another examples are Bt Cotton, Bt Corn, rice, tomato, potato all have good qualities in increasing food production.
