In figure, a parallel combination of resistors 6`Omega ` and 3 `Omega ` is connected in series with another parallel combination of resistors 4` Omega ` and 12 `Omega `between the terminals A and B. The equivalent resistance of parallel combination of resistors 3`Omega ` and 6 `Omega ` is
` (1)/(R_1) = 1/3 +1/6 or (1)/(R_2) =1/2 or R_1 = 2 Omega `
the equivalent resistance of parallel combination of resistors 4 W and 12 `Omega` is
`(1)/(R_2) =1/4 +1/(12) or (1)/(R_3) = 1/3 or R_2 =3 Omega `
the total equivalent resistance between the terminals A and B is `R=R_1 +R_2 = 2 + 3 = 52`.
