Amit weighing 60 kgf climbs up a ladder ...

Amit weighing 60 kgf climbs up a ladder of height 10 m in 15 minutes. Calculate the increase in his potential energy and the power spent by him. Take 1 kgf = 10 N.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Given `W=60kgf=60xx10N=600N,h=10m,t=15min=15xx60s=900s`
Increase in potential energy = mgh = w h = `600xx10=6000J`
Power spent = `"work done"/"time"=(6000J)/(900s)=6.67W`
