What energy change takes place in a dc motor ? On what principle does it work? State one factor to increase its speed of rotation.

Text Solution

In ad.c. motor, the electrical energy changes into the mechanical energy. Principle : A current carrying conductor placed in a magnetic field experiences a force in a direction perpendicular to both the length of conductor and the direction of magnetic field (i.e., magnetic effect of current). Way to increase the speed of rotation : By increasing the strength of current in the coil.
