a) The oxides of nitrogen formed during lightning dissolve in rain water, reaches the earth and produce certain salts of nitrogen in soil. This helps the plants to grow. Thus we can say that lightning is a blessing in vegetation.
b) Industrially nitrogen is prepared by the fractional distillation of liquified air.
