Iron is produced by reducing the haematte ore by using coke in a blast fur nace. A mixture of the roasted haomatite, coke and time called the charge is fedi into blast furance. A blast of hot air is sent into the tower from the bottom. Lime stone decomposes into calcium oxide and react with `SiO_2` forms `CaSiO_3` slag. Coke reacts with oxygen in hot air and forms `CO_2`. This `CO_2` rises up and combines with C and forms CO. Carbon monoxide reduces haematite into iron. Iron melted a in high temperature, this contain impurities like carbon, sulphur and phosphorus.
