There are eight C0rners and each C0rner has an atom of .X. present there. Each atom of .X. at the C0rner makes .1/8. C0ntribution towards a particutar unit cell. The number of atooms of .X. per unit cell .=8 xx 1/8=1. .Y. atom. present at the body-centre belongs to a particular unit cell. The number of atoms of .Y. per unit cell .=1 xx 1=1. Thereare 12 edges-of a cube and each edge has an atom of .O. present at the edge centre. Each atom of O present at edge centre makes .1/4. C0ntribution towards a particular unit cell. The number of .O. atoms per unit cell .=12 xx 1/4=3. The formula of the compound is, therefore, .XYO_3.
