Why does boiling of an egg or cooking. of rice in an open vessel take more time at a hill station?

At a hill station, atmospheric pressure is low due to higher altitude. Hence water boils at a lówér temperature. At a lower temperature the rate of reaction decreases. Hence.it takes longer time.
