A reaction is second order with respect ...

A reaction is second order with respect to a reactant. How is the rate of reaction affected. if the concentration of the reactant is (i) doubled

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The rate of reaction `=(k)[(A)][(B)]^(2)[(C)]^(circ)` When the concentration are increased two xx the new rate `=(k)[2 (A)][2 (B)]^(2)[2 (C)]^(circ)=8 (k)[(A)][(B)]^(2)` ie, the rate increases 8 xx.
