Discuss the effect of pressure and temperature on the adsorption of gasses and soilds.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The adsorption of gases on solids decreases with inerease in temperature in case of physical adsorption .because adsorption is an exothermic. process whereas in chemical adsorption, -it first iricreases and then decreaseš The adsorption of .gases on. solids increases with increase in pressure in physical .adsorption whereas in chemical adsorption the extent of adsorption first increases and then becomes independent of pressure.
