Emulsion is a colloidal dispersion in which both the dispersed phase and the disperison medium are liquids. The two liquids involved are fmmiscible.
Various types of enulsions are:
a) Emulsion of oil in water (o/w) type in which oil is the dispersed phase and water is the disper-
-sion medium. Eg: 1. Milk is an emulsion of liquid fat dispersed in watcr.
2. Vanishing cream
b) Emülsion of water - in - oil (w/o) type in whicli water is the dispersed phase and oil is the dispersion medium.
