To what extent do the electronic configuration decide the stability of oxidation states first series of the transition elements? justify your answer with examples."

In the first transition series, the oxidation states which lead to .3 (~d)^(circ). (cmpty .3 (~d)..orbital), .3 (~d)^(5). (cxactly half filled) or .3 (~d)^(14). (completely filied) electronic arrangements are more stable. Thus Sc(III) with 3d is more stable than Sc (II) with .3 (~d)^(1). Electroaic configuratòr of .(Mn)(z)=25) (j) (s)[(Ar)] 3 (~d) 3 (~s) (~s)^(2). It shows oxidation states from .+2., to .4 (R)., but Mn (11) is most stable because of ins configuiration [(Ar)] 3 (~d)^(5)=.
