Why formic acid(HCOOH) does not give HVZ reaction but CH3COOH does

HVZ reaction is given by carboxylic acids having `alpha` - Hydrogen atoms. `CH_3 COOH` has three `alpha-H` atoms whereas.HCOÓHhas no `alpha-H` atoms.
