(1) The mixture is treated, with 'HCl'. Thís will separate aniline and 'N' - methyl aniline as their respectige hydrochiorides from toluene and phenol. (2) - Tolvene and phenol can be'separated by 'dot NaOH', which reacts with phenol to form sodium phenoxide. (3) Mixture of hydrochlorides of aniline and N-methyl aniline is treated '1^ t ' with 'C_6 H_5 SO_2 Cl' and then with KOH solution when benzene.sulphonamide of aniline dissolves leaving behind bẻnzene sulphònamide of N-methylanilińe.
