If three litres of milk is equally divided among four persons, how much would each get?

One-fourth of three litres, which is three quarters of a litre. We can also think like this. . . If one itre-iš:dividéd among four, each gets a quarter litre. With three litres, this division can be done thrice. So, each gets three xx a quarter litre, which is three.quartes of a litre. Thus a quarter of three litres and three times, a quarter litrę are equal.As multiplication, `3 xx (1)/(4)=(1)/(4) xx 3`
