A pumpkin is cut into three equal pieces. Two pieces together weigh one kilogram. What is the weight of the whole pumpkin?

Weight of two pieces of pumpkin `=1` kilogram Weight of one piece of pumpkin `=(1)/(2)` ( kilogram )
Weight of three pieces `=3 xx (-1)/(2)=(3)/(2) ` `=1 (1)/(2) ( kilogram )`
That is, the weight of the whole pumpkin
`=(i) (1)/(2) ( kilogram )`
