To multiply a decimal number by 10, we shift one place right. To multiply a decimal number by 100 , we. shift two decimal . places to right. To multiply a decimal number by 1000 , we shift three decimal places to right. .That is, to multiply a decimail number by a number is shifted to the right by as many place.s as zeros in the multiplier.
