There are 40 children in a class and `50 %` of them are boys. How many boys are there in this class?

`50 %` of the class are boys means, `(50)/(100)` of the total number of children in the class are boys.
That is 1/2 of the total number or half the total Half of 40 is 20.
So there are 20 boys in the class.
