Sum of an even number and the succeeding 4th even number is 48 . Find the number?

Ans: An even number =x Succeding 4th even number `=x+8` Sum `=x+x+8=48` that is, `2 x+8=48` `2 x=48-8=40` `therefore` `x=40/2=20` Number `=20`
