The dimension of Planck constant equals ...

The dimension of Planck constant equals to that of :

A

angular momentum

B

linear momentum

C

force

D

energy

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
A

The formula for the plunk constant is
`h=E/v=([ML^(2)T^(-2)])/([T^(-1)])=ML^(2)T^(-1)`
The angular momentum =moment of inertia x angular velocity
Hence the dimension of angular momentum `[ML^(2)][T^(-1)]=[ML^(2)T^(-1)]`
Therefore the Plank constant has same dimension of angular momentum.
