Henry Law

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Henry law deal with effect of pressure on the solubility of gas.
Statement :
The solubility of a gas in a liquid at a given temperature is directly proportional to the pressure at which dissolved.
Let `X=`Mole fraction of gas in liquid at a given temperature as a measure of its solubility.
`p=` partial pressure of gas in equilibrium with the solution.
Then according to Henry's law.
Mathematically, `p=K_(H)X`
where `K_(H)=` Henry law constant.
