If a charge Q is kept at the mouth centre of a hemisphere of radius R, what is flux through the hemispherical surface ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

(i) Flux through the hemispherical surface due to `+q=q/(2 epsi_(0))` (we have seen in previous example)
(ii) Flux through the hemispherical surface due to `+q_(0)` is 0, because due to `+q_(0)`, field litre entering the surface = field lines coming out of the surface.
