mass that the scale can read , m=50g
Maximum displacement of the spring = Lenth of the scale, I=20cm=0.2m
Time period, T=0.6s
Maximum force exerted on spring , F=Mg
Where ,
g=acceleration due to gravity= `9.8m//s^(2)`
F=50xx9.8=490
therefore Spring constant, `k=(F)/(I)=(490)/(0.2)=2450Nm^(-1)`
Mass m, is suspendded from the balance .
`T=2pisqrt((m)/(k))` Time period,
`m=((T)/(2pi))^(2)xx k=((0.6)/(2xx3.14))^(2)xx2450=22.36kg`
Weight of the body =mg=`22.36xx9.8=219.167N.`
Hence, the weight of the body is about 219 N.
