The displacement of an object attached t...

The displacement of an object attached to a spring and executing simple harmonic motion is given by `x=2xx100^(-2) cos pit` metre. The time at which the maximum speed first occurs is.

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
A

Since `x=2xx10^(-2)cos pit`,we have the velocity as
`v=(dx)/(dt)=-2pixx10^(-2)sinpit`
And velocity becomes maximum when
`sin pit=1` or `t=(2n-1)/(2)`where n=1,2,3
Therefore , first maximum velocity position occur at n=1 is t=0.5s.
