In the meter bridge experimental set up, shown in the figure, the null point 'D' is obtained at a distance of 40 cm from end A of the meter bridge wire. If a resistance of `10 Omega` is connected in series with `R_(1),` null point is obtained at `AD = 60 cm. ` Calculate the values of `R_(1) and R_(2).`

A

`20 Omega`

B

`30 Omega`

C

`40 Omega`

D

`60 Omega`

Text Solution

`R_1/R_2=40/(100-40) or R_1/R_2=2/3`
`(R_1+10)/R_2=50/(100-50) or (R_1+10)/R_2=1`
