What happens when freshly prepared `FeC_3` is shaken with dilute `FeC_3` solution?

A reddish brown colloidal solution of `FeC_3` is obtained. This process is called peptization. The `Fe^(3+)` ions from `FeC_3` are adsorbed on the surface of the precipitate and form positively charged colloidal solution.
