When 400 g of a 20% Solution was cooled ...

When 400 g of a 20% Solution was cooled 50 g of the solute precipitated. What is the percent concentration of the remaining solution.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The amount of solute in 400 g solution `= 80 g`. Now, 50 g precipitates, so the left out amount of solute will be 30 g. Overall solution mass becomes `320 + 30 = 350 g`
`%` by mass of solute `=(30)/(350)xx100=8.57%`
