How do high levels of estrogen and progesterone during the follicular phase and luteal phase respectively of the ovarian cycle affect the uterus?

High levels of estrogen during the follicular phase, helps the endometrium of the uterus to regenerate through proliferation. During the luteal phase, the corpus luteum secretes large amounts of progesterone which is essential for maintenance of the endometrium.
