A triangle with vertices (4,0) ,(-1,-1) (3,5) is

A

isoceles and right angles

B

isoscles but not right angled

C

right angled but not isosceles

D

neither right angeld nor isosceles

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
A

Let AbC be the triabngle with vertifces A(4,0),B(-1,-1) and C(3,5). Then,
`AB=AC=sqrt(26) and BC=sqrt(52)`
Clearly, `AB^(2)+AC^(2)=BC^(2)`
Hence, the triangle is right-angled isosceles triangle
