The circumcentre of the triangle from by...

The circumcentre of the triangle from by the lines `xy +2x +2y + 4 =0` and `x +y + 2 =0` , is `:`

A

`(-1,1-)`

B

`(0,-1)`

C

`(1,1)`

D

`(-1,0)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
A

The equation of the sides are the
`xy + 2x + 2y + 4 = 0 and x + y + 2=0`
or ` (x+2)(y+2) = 0 and x+y + 2 = 0`
or,`x+2=0, y + 2=0`

Clearly, `Delta ABC` is a right triangle right angled at C.
So, its circumcentre is the mid-point of hypotenuse AB . Hence
the coordinates of the circumcentre are (-1,-1).
