The correct Answer is:
A

Let atomic weight of element X is x and that of element Y is y.
for ` XY_2 , n = (w)/(Mol wt. ) implies 0.1 = (10)/( x+2 y)`
` x+ 2y = (10)/(0.1 ) = 100`
For ` X_3 Y_2 , n= ( w)/(Mol . W.t) implies 0.05 = (9)/(3x + 2y)`
` 3x + 2y = (9)/(0.05 ) = 180 `
On solving equations (i) and (ii), we get, y = 30
` x+ 2(30) = 100`
` 2=100 - 60 =40`
