Find the angle of inclination of the lin...

Find the angle of inclination of the line whose slope is `(i) (1)/(sqrt(3))`, `(ii)-sqrt(3)`.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`(i)` Let `theta` be the angle of inclination.
`:.m=(1)/(sqrt(3))`
`implies tan theta=tan 30^(@)`
`implies theta=30^(@)`
Therefore, angle of inclination is `30^(@)`.
`(ii)` Let `theta` be the angle of inclination.
`:.m=-sqrt(3)`
`implies tan theta=-tan60^(@)=tan(180^(@)-60^(@))`
`implies theta=120^(@)`
Therefore, angle of inclination is `120^(@)`.
