Find the equation of a line passing thro...

Find the equation of a line passing through the points `(2,5)` and `(-3,1)`.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Equation of a line passing through two points
`y-y_(1)=(y_(2)-y_(1))/(x_(2)-x_(1))(x-x_(1))`
Therefore, equation of a line passing throught the points `(2,5)` and `(-3,1)`
`y-5=(1-5)/(-3-2)(x-2)`
`implies y-5=(4)/(5)(x-2)`
`implies 5y-25=4x-8`
`implies 4x-5y+17=0`
