Find the sum of the products of the corresponding terms of the sequences 2,4, 8, 16, 32 and 128, 32, 8, 2, `1/2`.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
N/a

Progression formed by the product of corresponding terms.
`=2xx128,4xx32,8xx8,16xx2,32xx(1)/(2)`
`=256,128,64,32,16` which is a G.P.
Here `a=256,r=(1)/(2),n=5`
`:.S_(5)=(a(1-r^(5)))/(1-r)=(256[1-(1)/(2^(5))])/(1-(1)/(2))`
`=15xx(31)/(32)=496`
