If A.M. and GM. of roots of a quadratic equation are 8 and 5, respectively, then obtain the quadratic equation.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
N/a

Let the roots of quadratic equation be `alpha` and `beta `
`: (alpha+beta)/(2)=8 "and " sqrt(alpha beta)=5`
`implies alpha+beta=16 " and " alpha beta=25`
Required equation
`x^(2)-(alpha+beta)x+alpha beta=0`
`implies x^(2)-16x+25=0`
