Two cards are drawn at random and without replacement from a pack of 52 playing cards. Find the probability that both the cards are black.

The correct Answer is:

Here total number of black cards are 26 in a pack of 52 cards.
Therefore required probability `=P(EnnF)`
`=P(E)P(F)`
where `E=` event that first card is black and
`F=` event that second card is black.
`P(E)=26/52=1/2`
`P(F)=25/51` (there will be 25 black cards, after drawing first black card)
`:.` Required probability,
`P(EnnF)=P(E)P(F)1/2xx25/51=25/102`
