The correct Answer is:
C

The given equation is `2x^(2)-5x-3=0`
(i) On substituting x=2 in the given equation
L.H.S. `=2xx2^(2)-5xx2-3=8-10-3=-5neR.H.S.`
:. X =2 is not a solution of `2x^(2)-5x-3=0`
(ii) On substituting x=3 in the given equation
`L.H.S.=2xx3^(2)-5xx3-3=18-15-3=0=R.H.S.`
:. x=3 is a solution of `2x^(2)-5x-3=0`
(iii) On substituting `x=-(1)/(2)` in the given equation
`L.H.S.=2xx((-1)/(2))^(2)-5xx((-1)/(2))-3=2xx(1)/(4)+5xx(1)/(2)-3`
`:.x=(-1)/(2)` is a solution of `2x^(2)-5x-3=0`
