Find the radian measures corresponding to the following degree measures:(i) `25o` (ii) `- 47o30prime` (iii) `240o` (iv) `520o`

A

`25^(@)`

B

`-47^(@) 30^(')`

C

`240^(@)`

D

`520^(@)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

i) `D=25^(@)`
`therefore C=pi/180^(@) xx D =pi/180^(@) xx 25^(') = (5pi)/(36)`
Therefore, `25^(@)=(5pi)/36` radian Ans.
ii) `D=-47^(@)30^(') = -47^(@)(30/60)^(@) = -47 (1^(@))/2 = -95^(@)/2`
`therefore C=pi/180^(@) xx D= pi/180^(@) xx (-95^(@))/2 = -(19pi)/72`
Therefore, `-47^(@)30^(') = -(19pi)/72` radian. Ans.
iii) `D=240^(@)`
`therefore C=pi/180^(@) xx D=pi/180^(@) xx 240^(@)=(4pi)/3`
Therefore, `240^(@)=(4pi)/3` radian Ans.
iv) `D=520^(@)`
`therefore C=pi/180^(@) xx D = pi/180^(@) xx 520^(@)= (26pi)/9`
Therefore, `520^(@)= (26pi)/9` radian Ans.
