A ball of mass m is thrown vertically ...

A ball of mass m is thrown vertically upward from the ground and reaches a height h before momentarilly coming to rest . If g is acceleration due to gravity .What is the impulse received by the ball due of gravity force during its flight ? ( neglect air resistance ).

mass = m
Initial velocity of
a body to reach h is ,

On return journey ,
velocity of a body to reach
the ground , ` v = -sqrt(2gh)`
Impulse I = `m(u-v) = m [ sqrt(2gh)-(-sqrt(2gh))] `
` = m 2 sqrt(2gh) = 2m sqrt(2gh)`
` :. I = sqrt(8m^(2)gh)` .
