TMV is about 300 nm long and 18 nm is diameter with a molecular weight of `39 xx 10^(6)` daltons .the capsid is made up of 2,310 protein sub units called capsomers , arranged helically around a central hollow space of 4 cm . Each capsomers is made up of a single polypeptide chain with 158 amino acids . The core nucleic acid is RNA (SS) contains 6500 nucleotides .
