Describe the structure and functioning of nephrons.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Nephrons are the basic structures of kidney. The nephrons consist of a bowman.s capsule through which blood is filtered. Metabolic wastes and water trickle down through the bowman.s capsule into the renal tubule. The renal tubule is surrounded by capillaries, which reabsorb the essential nutrients back into the circulatory system. The urine thus formed passes from the kidney into the bladder through the ureter.
